This form serves to apply to the EPOCH Practice study visit to Munich, Germany, occurring on 21 & 22 October 2025.
Background: EPOCH Practice is a project co-funded by the European Union, the King Baudouin Foundation, the Council of Europe Development Bank and the French Interministerial Delegation for Accomodation and Access to Housing (DIHAL). The project is part of the European Platform on Combatting Homelessness (EPOCH) with the objective of increasing and improving mutual learning and capacity building between EU member states and EPOCH members. EPOCH Practice is delivered by FEANTSA, the European Federation of National Organisations Working with the Homeless. For more information about EPOCH Practice, our activities and resources, please visit:
Purpose: The study visit will convene EU stakeholders working towards an end to homelessness in the city of Munich to learn through a hands-on approach from the local, state and federal homelessness strategies, policies and services. Participants will attend presentations on policy frameworks and funding mechanisms. Furthermore, facilitated visits to homelessness services in the city allow participants to engage with practices in the field. The study visit is intended, not only to learn about the city’s practices and services, but also for participants to bring and share their own experiences, practices and approaches to the conversation. To this end, participants who can best share their experiences, and who can best disseminate their learnings back to their work and networks, will be accepted to attend. The Study Visit will be held entirely in English.
Please note the programme may still be subject to small changes- you can check the current version here:
The Programme of the EPOCH Practice Study Visit to Munich
The study visit is kindly hosted by the City of Munich’s Office for Housing and Migration and the Coordination of Homeless Assistance Southern Bavaria’s Working Group for Emergency Housing Assistance in Munich and Upper Bavaria, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) and The Federal Association for Homeless Assistance (BAG W).
Funding: The study visit is entirely free to attend, but participants must plan to cover the costs of their own travel and accommodation. A small number of bursaries are available to fund the travel and accommodation of selected participants for whom the cost would represent a significant barrier. To apply for a bursary, please send an email to epoch.practice@feantsa.org explaining why you require the financial support. We will thereafter select a number of participants to receive the bursaries, in line with the resources available. No bursaries will be awarded without an application email and corresponding written acceptance. Please note that bursaries are awarded on the basis of the reimbursement of expenses. As bursaries are limited and can cover only 1/3 of places available, participants should plan to cover their own costs.
Selection: Where the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, selection will be based on the responses to this form.
Eligibility: Participants must live or work in an EU, EFTA or ESF+ participating country in order to attend due to EU grant requirements.
Submitting an application does not guarantee participation—please do not book accommodation or travel before receiving email confirmation of acceptance by the EPOCH Practice team. All applicants should receive a decision by early September.
📅 Application deadline: 6 August 2025 – Applications may be accepted on a rolling basis i.e. places will fill up as applications are received. We advise applying as easy as possible to avoid disappointment.
